North Little Rock, AR—The Corpus Christi Hooks built an early eight run lead and hit four home runs in a 12-6 win over the Arkansas Travelers on Wednesday night at Dickey-Stephens Park. The Hooks homered in each of the first three innings of the game and Arkansas never got within five the rest of the contest. Joey Loperfido homered in the opening inning and paced the Hooks offense with a three hit night. Five Corpus Christi pitchers combined for 16 strikeouts in the ballgame.

Moments That Mattered

* After a leadoff walk, Loperfido blasted a two-run shot to right to start the home run barrage for the Hooks.

* Arkansas tried to make noise late, cutting it to a six run margin in the eighth inning and loading the bases with one out but consecutive strikeouts doused any potential of a threat.

* LF Isiah Gilliam: 2-4, run, HR, 2 RBI
