At some point, a hot start to a season grows into something bigger. That's what's happening with Derek Fisher. The Astros' No. 4 prospect went 3-for-5 and extended his hitting streak to 16 games on Saturday as Triple-A Fresno posted a 6-4 win over Oklahoma City at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

The Astros' No. 4 prospect went 3-for-5 and extended his hitting streak to 16 games on Saturday as Triple-A Fresno posted a 6-4 win over Oklahoma City at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

Fisher wasted no time in pushing the streak to 16 games. The 23-year-old ripped a single to right field against Oklahoma City starter Jair Jurrjens in the first inning.

The 2014 first-round pick went back to right field in the fifth for another single before concluding his night with a base knock to center in the eighth. It was the 10th time during the streak that Fisher has recorded at least two hits. He's collected at least one in all but five of 33 games this season.
Fisher began the streak on April 25 with a three-hit effort against Salt Lake. Since then, he's hitting .437 (31-for-71) with three homers and 14 RBIs. Overall, the University of Virginia product has a .336/.400/.582 slash line, eight homers and 21 RBIs. He ranks second in the Pacific Coast League with 78 total bases.
A.J. Reed went 2-for-3 with an RBI double and Preston Tucker drove in two runs for the Grizzlies. Reymin Guduan (3-3) pitched two innings of hitless relief for the win and Jordan Jankowski worked around a pair of walks in the ninth for his fourth save.
