Isotopes Close-Out Road Trip with 5-2 Win

The Isotopes pitching staff allowed just two hits on the evening, defeating the El Paso Chihuahuas 5-2 from Southwest University Park. The victory for the Isotopes sends the club back to Albuquerque with a winning road trip, going 5-4 on the nine game stretch.

Isotopes starter Zach Jemiola allowed just one hit during his five innings on the mound. However, the 23-year-old right-hander issued five walks. 
The Albuquerque bullpen shut down El Paso the rest of the way, allowing just two baserunners over the games final four innings. Carlos Estévez, C.C. Lee, Jerry Vasto and Austin House all recorded holds on the evening while Matt Carasiti picked up his league leading sixth save.
At the plate, Jordan Patterson and Raimel Tapia led the way. Patterson connected on his fifth home run of the season, his fourth in his last 10 games.
Meanwhile, Tapia finished the night 3-for-5 with two doubles to extend his hitting streak to 12 games. During the streak, the 23-year-old is hitting .414 (24-for-58) with 10 RBI and nine extra-base hits and has stolen five bases.
The Isotopes now return home for a four-game set on with the Las Vegas 51s. Albuquerque has yet to name a starter for Saturday's contest. The 51s will turn to righty Blake Beavan. First pitch from Isotopes Park is set for 7:05 p.m.
