Sam Howard was the hard-luck losing pitcher for the Isotopes on Wednesday. The southpaw allowed just one run over 6.0 innings on the hill. Howard struck out seven and walked none. The outing was just the second quality start of the season for Albuquerque pitchers.
La Cueva High School's Austin House's struggles continued on the mound for the Isotopes. The right-hander's ERA has risen to 13.03 on the season (14er/9.2ip).
Isotopes infielder Daniel Castro finished the night 1-for-4 at the plate, extending his Minor League-best hitting streak to 18 games.
The Isotopes and 51s continue their five-game series Thursday evening at Isotopes Park when Rockies right-hander Jeff Hoffman makes his third rehab start with Albuquerque. First pitch from Isotopes Park is set for 6:35 p.m.
