SALISBURY, MD - The Delmarva Shorebirds couldn't maintain the energy from their near-mammoth comeback the night before, falling 10-0 to the Augusta GreenJackets on Sunday afternoon at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium.
Augusta took advantage of control issues from Hall in the second inning.
Delmarva managed just four hits on the afternoon. The Shorebirds' best chances came in the third and sixth when they put two men on with fewer than two outs. Neither rally could produce a run, though, as the home side endured its third blanking of the season.
After seeing their 8-0 lead whittled down to one run on Saturday, the GreenJackets piled on in the eighth and ninth innings. A wild pitch and sac fly from Baldwin produced a pair of runs in the eighth. In the ninth,
Baldwin shined for the GreenJackets at the plate and in the field, going 3-for-4 with a double, triple, RBI, stolen base, and three runs scored. He also made two top-notch defensive plays at the warning track in right field, crashing into the wall to save extra bases both times.
Parra finished 2-for-3 with a double, homer, and four RBIs.
The 10-run margin was Delmarva's steepest defeat of the season. The Shorebirds' previous low was a pair of three-run losses; everything else had been by either one or two runs.
The Shorebirds and GreenJackets suit up for the finale of their four-game series on Monday night.
