JetHawks capture South Division title

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. - The JetHawks rallied for 10 runs in the seventh inning to propel them over the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, 12-7, on Saturday night at LoanMart Field to win the South Division title.
Lancaster took the best-of-five series, 3-1. They advance to the California League Championship Series against the Modesto Nuts. Game 1 of the best-of-five set will be Tuesday night at The Hangar in Lancaster.
Chris Rabago delivered a game-tying RBI single in the big seventh inning. Brendan Rodgers put the JetHawks in front for good with a two-run infield single.
Yonathan Daza, the Cal League batting champion, went 4-for-6 with four RBI, a stolen base, and two runs scored. He came through with an RBI single and two-run triple in the seventh. Garrett Hampson was 2-for-3 with three walks and three runs scored. Wes Rogers went 3-for-6 with two runs batted in.
JetHawks starter Ty Culbreth retired the first six hitters he faced, but ran into trouble in the third inning. Zach McKinstry opened the scoring with a leadoff home run. Luke Raley later delivered an RBI single and DJ Peters came up with a two-run double.
Lancaster chipped away with single runs in the fourth and fifth innings. Daza brought in the first run for the JetHawks with an RBI single in the fourth. In the fifth, Wes Rogers led off with a double and Quakes starter Dustin May left with an apparent injury. Later in the frame, Brendan Rodgers drew a bases loaded walk.
The Quakes expanded their lead with three runs in the bottom of the sixth, the final two coming home on a single by Brandon Montgomery.
Hampson opened the decisive seventh inning with a walk, one of his two in the frame. The JetHawks ended up sending 14 batters to the plate and 10 runs scored. The pounded out eight hits in the inning.
Brad Schreiber (1-0) picked up the win in relief for the JetHawks with 1.2 scoreless innings. Marc Magliaro closed out the game with 1.2 scoreless innings of his own, striking out three. Jason Richman (1-1) suffered the loss in relief for Rancho Cucamonga.
The JetHawks had 55 hits in the series. Daza led the way with a .556 batting average (10-for-18).
