JetHawks Down 66ers 7-3

San Bernardino, CA- The Lancaster JetHawks used a five-run second inning and held the Inland Empire 66ers of San Bernardino to 0-for-7 with runners in scoring position en route to a 7-3 win at San Manuel Stadium on Sunday. The win was the JetHawks second straight over Inland Empire (22-22)

San Bernardino, CA- The Lancaster JetHawks used a five-run second inning and held the Inland Empire 66ers of San Bernardino to 0-for-7 with runners in scoring position en route to a 7-3 win at San Manuel Stadium on Sunday. The win was the JetHawks second straight over Inland Empire (22-22) and evened the season-series at 3-3.
The JetHawks got to Inland Empire starter Luis Pena (2-4) in the second when Brian Mundell doubled to open the frame. Yonathan Daza followed with a single and Roberto Ramos' RBI single made it 1-0. Wes Rogers sac fly made it 2-0. Eventually Brendan Rodgers delivered the big blow smacking a three-run triple to right-center making it 5-0.
The Sixers did get two runs back in the bottom of the second as Taylor Ward singled to right and came home Connor Justus' RBI triple. Jordan Serena's RBI ground out made it 6-2 after two innings. Each club tacked on runs in the fifth. Mundell drilled a homer to left off Pena, his eighth of the year. The Sixers got it back in the bottom of the frame when Jake Yacinich lifted a Jesus Tinoco (2-0) offering off the wall in right-center and then out-ran the defense for an inside-the-park. It was his third homer of the year, his second inside-the-parker and made it 6-3. The JetHawks (24-20) made it 7-3 with an insurance run in the ninth on Yonathan Daza's RBI single.
Rogers finished the game 3-for-3 and stole two bases. Mundell, Daza and Ramos each had two hits apiece. Ward was 3-for-4 for the Sixers while Yacinich had two hits for Inland Empire.
