Jordan Qsar Homers for the Second Time this Week as IronPigs Drop Third Straight to Durham 

Durham, North Carolina (April 13, 2023) – Jordan Qsar continued his torrid hot streak at the plate, but the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (5-7) still fell to the Durham Bulls (6-6) 4-3 on Friday night at Durham Bulls Athletic Park.

The Bulls used the long ball in the first inning to jump out quick. Rene Pinto blasted a three-run homer, his second of the season, to give Durham an early 3-0 lead.

The IronPigs made their first dent in the scoreboard in the fourth. With the bases loaded, Jim Haley legged out a grounder to third base for a fielder’s choice, driving in a run, and making it 3-1.

Ruben Cardenas hammered a solo homer for the Bulls in the sixth, his third of the year, to put Durham back up by three.

Jordan Qsar gave the IronPigs some late life in the eighth as he socked a two-run homer, his third of the season, to make it 4-3.

Lehigh Valley put two runners on in the ninth, but Simon Muzziotti’s drive died on the warning track in centerfield as Durham held on for the 4-3 win.

Luis Patino (1-2) earned the win for Durham, allowing just a run over five innings on four hits and three walks, striking out five. Heath Hembree (S, 2) collected his second save of the week, working around two walks in the ninth by striking out one without conceding a hit.

Michael Plassmeyer (0-1) suffered the loss for Lehigh Valley, allowing three runs in four innings on eight hits and a walk, striking out five.

The IronPigs and Bulls continue their series on Saturday, April 14 at 6:35 p.m. from Durham Bulls Athletic Park.
