TROY, NY - The Tri-City ValleyCats were on the losing end of a no-hitter for the fourth time in franchise history Sunday evening, Falling to the Connecticut Tigers at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium. The Tigers used four pitchers to record their first no-hitter in franchise history and take the rubber match in the three-game weekend series.
After taking a 9-2 win on Saturday night, the Tigers (19-23, 9-10) notched the first of eight hits in the second inning and got on the board thanks to an RBI single and an RBI double in the top of the fifth. An insurance run came through in the top half of the seventh when ValleyCats (16-25, 6-14) relief pitcher Jairo Lopez was issued a balk as part of his four-inning debut in Tri-City. 
Southpaw Jack O'Loughlin (2-2) matched a season-long with five batters walked and a pair struck out in six innings on the mound. Following one-inning holds from Connecticut relievers Michael Beinlien and Kyle Thomas, Kory Behenna picked up his third save of the season by retiring the side in order in the ninth. 
Coming in after a 1-2-3 inning from ValleyCats starter Kyle Sarrano, right-hander Christian Mejias (1-2) was tagged with the loss, surrendering a pair of earned runs on five hits and striking out two. 
Following the setback, the ValleyCats will have a day off on Monday before continuing a six-game home stand with a mid-week series against the Batavia Muckdogs. First pitch on Tuesday, July 30 is set for 7:00 p.m.
