FORT MYERS, Fla. (October 17, 2022) - Mighty Mussels third baseman Keoni Cavaco has been named the FSL Player of the Month for September, the league office announced last week.

Cavaco caught fire at the end of the season, batting .345 with a league-high three home runs over eight regular season games in September. He also led the circuit in slugging (.759) and OPS (1.134).

The California native placed second in the FSL in doubles (3), RBI (9) and total bases (22), ending the year on a seven-game hitting streak.

Cavaco continued his impactful hitting in the postseason, delivering the game-winning home run in Game 2 of the FSL West Division Championship Series. (Full video below)
