(Bowling Green. KY) - The Burlington Bees (43-52) scored the game's final three runs in a 4-1 win over the Bowling Green Hot Rods (46-47) on Wednesday night at Bowling Green Ballpark.

One game after falling a triple shy of the cycle, Artemis Kadkhodaian opened the scoring by blasting a solo home run over the left field wall, his third of the season, giving the Bees a 1-0 lead.
Garrett Whitley opened the bottom of the fourth with a double to left-center. Jesus Sanchez then tied the game at one, driving in Whitley with a broken bat single into right field. After Sanchez was caught stealing, Gatto went on to retire the next two hitters to get out of the inning with no further damage.
The game remained tied at one until the top of the eighth inning. Sam McDonnell reached on an error and then moved to second when Artemis Kadkhodaian walked. After Richie Fecteau moved the runners over with a sacrifice fly, Stephen Kerr lined a single to center, scoring both McDonnell and Kadkhodaian, giving the Bees a 3-1 lead. Jahmai Jones added an insurance run in the ninth with a solo home run to right field, extending the Bees' lead to 4-1 as the Bees went on to win the series opener.
Bees' reliever Carlos Salazar (1-0) earned the win, throwing two scoreless innings while Joe Serrapica (0-1) was charged with the loss. Jackson Zarubin (1) earned the save. The Bees and the Hot Rods will continue the series on Thursday night at 6:35 p.m. as Nate Bertness will make the start for the Bees against Angel Yepez for the Hot Rods at Bowling Green Ballpark.
NOTES: Joe Gatto allowed just one run in five innings for the third straight outing. Artemis Kadkhoadaian has now homered in back-to-back games. After going 4-for-4 on Monday, Richie Fecteau collected two more hits on Wednesday. The Bees have won nine of their last 12 road games.
