Knights Announce Five Roster Moves Friday

(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) -- The Charlotte Knights have announced five roster moves today ahead of the team’s doubleheader against the Nashville Sounds from Truist Field in Uptown Charlotte, NC. (UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) -- The Charlotte Knights have announced five roster moves today ahead of the team’s doubleheader against the Nashville Sounds from Truist Field in Uptown Charlotte, NC. First pitch of game one tonight is set for 5:30 PM ET.

RHP Mason Adams was activated off Charlotte’s 7-day injured list today. Adams was promoted to the Charlotte Knights from Double-A Birmingham on August 10. The 24-year-old made his Triple-A debut that night against the Louisville Bats and allowed three runs (all earned) on three hits over three innings. He was placed on Charlotte’s 7-day injured list on August 13 (retroactive to August 12).

LHP Ky Bush, who was optioned to Charlotte from the Chicago White Sox on August 26, was added to the Charlotte’s active roster today. In four games (two starts) with the Knights this season, Bush is 2-1 with a 6.16 ERA in 19.0 innings pitched. With the White Sox this season, Bush has gone 0-3 with a 5.60 ERA in four starts over 17.2 innings pitched.

Both Adams and Bush are scheduled to start today for the Knights and the Nashville Sounds. Adams is scheduled to start game one of today’s doubleheader, while Bush will start the second game this evening.

RHP Jared Kelley was promoted to the Knights today from High-A Winston-Salem. Selected by the Chicago White Sox in the second round of the June 2020 First-Year Player Draft, Kelley is 2-1 with a 3.58 ERA in 22 games this season with Winston-Salem (37.2 IP). He began the season with Double-A Birmingham and posted a 1-1 mark with a 5.63 ERA in five games (8.0 IP).

RHP Jordan Mikel, who was promoted to Charlotte from Double-A Birmingham on August 28, was assigned back to the Barons today. Mikel allowed six runs (all earned) in his only appearance with the Knights on August 28 (0.1 IP).

RHP Johan Domínguez was placed on Charlotte’s Temporarily Inactive List (retroactive to August 29). This season with the Knights, Dominguez is 6-5 with a 4.77 ERA in 24 games (20 starts). He leads the team in starts and innings pitched (100.0) this season.
