(WORCESTER, MA) – The Worcester Red Sox scored four runs on 12 hits en route to a 4-0 win over the Charlotte Knights on Wednesday night in game two of the six-game series from Polar Park in Worcester, MA.

RHP J.B. Olson (0-1, 5.96) started for the Knights and allowed one run on two hits over two innings of work. Olson, who was saddled with the loss, has now started four of Charlotte’s last nine games dating back to Sunday, June 12. He gave up an RBI single to Devlin Granberg in the second inning to provide the WooSox with the first run of the game.

Worcester scored a run in the bottom of the third inning off LHP Bennett Sousa thanks to a solo home run off the bat of Connor Wong. The WooSox added to the lead with an RBI single by Granberg in the bottom of the sixth inning. Worcester added a fourth and final run in the bottom of the seventh inning on an RBI ground-rule double from Ryan Fitzgerald.

Chicago White Sox outfielder Eloy Jiménez continued his major league rehab assignment and went 1-for-4 at the plate for the Knights. In all, the Knights managed a total of five hits in the game.

Worcester LHP Thomas Pannone (5-3, 4.57) started the game and earned the win with 5.2 scoreless innings pitched. He fanned seven batters and allowed just four hits.
