Springfield, MO - C Andrew Knizner belted a game-winning solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning, sending the Springfield Cardinals to the 2-1 walk-off win against the Midland RockHounds before 5,863 fans at Hammons Field.

Cardinals RHP Dakota Hudson and Midland RHP Dustin Hurlbutt both alternated a pair of scoreless innings to start, before the RockHounds (3-11, 38-46) cracked the scoreless tie in the top of the third. With LF Jordan Tarsovich at first after a fielder's choice, 2B Max Schrock pulled an RBI double down the right field line, plating Tarsovich all the way from first for the 1-0 lead.

Hudson kept the Cardinals (8-6, 43-41) close with scoreless work throughout the rest of his 7.0 innings on the mound, finishing his outing with just the one run on seven hits while striking out eight.

Hurlbutt countered with six scoreless innings in his start, but the Cardinals tied it against the bullpen in the bottom of the seventh. Facing LHP Brandon Mann, LF Randy Arozarena got all the way to third base when 1B Viosergy Rosa dropped a pop up next to the mound. Mann dug and retired the next two batters, but CF Magneuris Sierra came through with a two-out RBI double inside the left field line, bringing in Arozarena to tie the game, 1-1.

RHP Blake McKnight and RHP Andrew Morales (W, 1-0) each put in a scoreless relief inning, keeping the 1-1 tie intact through the top of the ninth.

The Cardinals then dealt the final blow in the bottom of the ninth against RHP Tyler Sturdevant (L, 1-2). With one away and the bases empty, C Andrew Knizner lined a solo home run over the right field fence, his second long-ball in as many days, sending the Cardinals to the 2-1 walk-off win.
