Kubat, a left-handed pitcher, touts a 0.94 ERA (4 ER/38.1 IP) and a 3-2 record, allowing 24 hits and no homeruns while striking out 46 batters in 19 games (one start). The Omaha, Neb., native had a 10-game scoreless streak that spanned 20.2 innings, including the entire month of May (18.0 IP), from April 29 to June 1. Kubat has converted both of his save opportunities this season and has not allowed a run in 16 of his 19 appearances with Kannapolis. The White Sox acquired Kubat from the Royals in March.
Roman, 22, is batting .276 (64-232) with seven doubles, one triple, one home run, 16 RBI, and 24 runs scored in 59 games through June 12. He enters the final week of the First Half ranking fifth in the league in both games played (59) and at-bats (232). The White Sox 12th round pick from the June 2016 First-Year Player Draft, Roman has punished left-handed pitching this season, batting .329 (23-70) against southpaws compared to .253 (41-162) against right-handers. He began the season as one of the South Atlantic League's top hitters, batting .350 (28-80) in 22 games in April.
