CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — The Chattanooga Lookouts are pleased to announce that legendary broadcaster Larry Ward will return for his 39th season calling Lookouts baseball in 2027, continuing one of the longest broadcasting tenures in Minor League Baseball.

Since first taking the microphone for the Lookouts in 1989, Ward has become a beloved fixture of Chattanooga sports, connecting generations of fans to the team through his distinctive play-by-play and deep knowledge of the game. His career with the Lookouts has spanned multiple eras of Chattanooga baseball, from historic Engel Stadium to AT&T Field and now Erlanger Park, the team's new downtown home.

The 2027 season will also bring a new voice to the Lookouts broadcast booth, as the organization will search for another broadcaster to join Ward throughout the season. The addition will provide fans with a fresh perspective and new insights while continuing the tradition of bringing Lookouts baseball to fans across Chattanooga and the Tennessee Valley. Ward's experience and familiarity with the organization will serve as a valuable foundation as the broadcast team enters this new chapter.

“Chattanooga has been home for a long time, and I still get excited about the opportunity to call another season of baseball,” said Ward. “I've been fortunate to work with so many great players, coaches and people throughout the organization, and the fans are a big reason why this has been such a special ride. Erlanger Park has brought an exciting new chapter to Lookouts baseball, and I'm looking forward to another season, welcoming a new voice to the broadcast booth and continuing to share Lookouts baseball with fans throughout the Tennessee Valley.”

Ward's return marks nearly four decades of bringing the sights, sounds and stories of professional baseball to Lookouts fans. Along the way, he has earned recognition as one of the most enduring voices in the sport, including induction into the Southern League Hall of Fame, the Greater Chattanooga Sports Hall of Fame and the Tennessee Radio Hall of Fame.

“Larry Ward is synonymous with Chattanooga Lookouts baseball,” said Lookouts President Rich Mozingo. “His dedication to this organization and our community over nearly four decades is extraordinary. We're thrilled to have him back for his 39th season as we continue building our future at Erlanger Park.”

As the Lookouts prepare for the 2027 season at Erlanger Park, Ward's return provides a familiar connection between the team's rich history and its next chapter. His voice has accompanied countless memorable moments for the organization, and he remains an important part of the experience for fans following the team throughout the season.

The Chattanooga Lookouts' 2027 season will mark the club's second year at Erlanger Park, the state-of-the-art ballpark in Chattanooga's South Broad District that opened in 2026.
