Lexington Legends to Honor Military During Upcoming Homestand

WHITAKER BANK BALLPARK (Lexington, KY) - The Lexington Legends will honor our military heroes in another packed homestand at Whitaker Bank Ballpark! As the Legends welcome in the West Virginia Power, fans of all ages can take part in the variety of events such as Bobblehead Bonanza, Thirsty Thursday and more!

They allow us to have freedoms such as baseball games and nights out with our loved ones. It is our honor to able to give them a night where they can bring their own families to Whitaker Bank Ballpark to take part in the freedoms they fight for," said Legends President/CEO Andy Shea.
Thursday, July 19 at 7:05 p.m. vs. West Virginia: The Legends kick off the homestand with the fan favorite: Thirsty Thursday! Fans of the adult variety can grab a drink during Thirsty Thursday presented by Kentucky Ale allowing fans to enjoy $1 12 oz. beers and $3 16 oz. beers at the Bullpen Patio, First Base Pavilion Tent, and the Handlebar in the first base concourse. $1 Pepsi products will be available in the 1^st base and 3^rd base concession stands. Fans can also bring their best friends to Whitaker Bank Ballpark! Dog owners can bring their K9 companion to the ballpark for a $2 dog entry fee to be donated to the Scott County Humane Society. With the rival Power in town, the Legends will be donning their traditional Hatfield & McCoy jerseys for the four-game series.
Friday, July 20 at 7:05 p.m. vs. West Virginia: Join us for a stachetastic day at Whitaker Bank Ballpark when we honor all branches of the United States Military on Military Appreciation Night. All service members, veterans, retirees and their families can present their valid military ID at the box office for free tickets for themselves and their family, courtesy of Donatos Tickets for Troops among other local businesses. When gates open at 6:05 p.m., fans can head down to the Bullpen Patio on the 1^st base side to take in live music courtesy of a local musician for Friday Night Live. Following the game, the Legends will have sensory friendly fireworks, courtesy of AARP, that will not make loud noises like traditional fireworks shows.
Saturday, July 21 at 6:35 p.m. vs. West Virginia: Kids 12 and under can sport the same jerseys as the Legends during the WKYT Kids Jersey Giveaway! The first 1,000 kids through the gates of Whitaker Bank Ballpark will receive a Legends white jersey replica, courtesy of WKYT. Throughout the game, fans can check out Bobblehead Bonanza on the concourse. Bobbleheads from a variety of sports and eras will be available for purchase with proceeds benefiting the Legends Booster Club which directly benefits the players. Another fantastic fireworks show will follow the final out of the game!
Sunday, July 22 at 2:05 p.m. vs. West Virginia: Another day at Whitaker Bank Ballpark means another giveaway! Joe Torre Safe At Home will be educating fans about the organization, giving away baseball cards at the front gates to kids as they enter. Safe At Home provides healing services to youth who have been traumatized by exposure to violence including domestic violence, child abuse, teen dating abuse, and sexual assault in order to empower them to live healthy lives free of violence. Their mission is to educate to end the cycle of domestic violence and save lives. It will also be Bluegrass Care Navigators Night as they celebrate their 40^th anniversary! They will be highlighting their seven different branches of care through a variety of in game activities. Whitaker Bank Ballpark will open early at 12:30 p.m. for Playtime on the Outfield allowing families to play catch until 1 p.m. Kids 12 and under will also get in FREE on Free Kids Ticket Sunday, thanks to our friends at JiF.
