SOUTH BEND, IN - The Bowling Green Hot Rods and the Midwest League announced that Hot Rods LHP Resly Linares was named Pitcher of the Week for his efforts in last Wednesday's game one of the double header against West Michigan.
Linares threw seven innings of no-hit ball against the Whitecaps, allowing just two base runners: a hit batsman and an error.
He becomes the 20th Hot Rods player honored with a Player or Pitcher of the Week award, and the 18th honored by the Midwest League since the team began play in the league back in 2010.
"Resly pitched really well," Hot Rods Manager Craig Albernaz said. "I'm proud of his effort, and he was a real leader for our team on Wednesday."
Linares and the Hot Rods open up a seven game homestand tonight with the first of four against the South Bend Cubs. First pitch from Bowling Green Ballpark is set for 6:35pm.
