LMB: Conoce el nuevo formato de Playoffs de la LMB
Ciudad de México (www.lmb.com.mx) 5 de agosto de 2021.- El rol regular de la temporada 2021 de la Liga Mexicana de Beisbol (LMB) llegó a su final y empieza la parte más emocionante: la postemporada. Para este año tendrá un formato distinto que mantendrá a los aficionados entretenidos y emocionados.
Ciudad de México (www.lmb.com.mx) 5 de agosto de 2021.- El rol regular de la temporada 2021 de la Liga Mexicana de Beisbol (LMB) llegó a su final y empieza la parte más emocionante: la postemporada. Para este año tendrá un formato distinto que mantendrá a los aficionados entretenidos y emocionados. Los 12 mejores clubes buscarán llegar a la Serie del Rey y quedarse con la Copa Zaachila.
Los playoffs estarán compuestos por cuatro fases: Primer Playoff, Series de Zona, Series de Campeonato y la Serie del Rey. Todas las series de cada fase serán a ganar cuatro de siete juegos.
Al Primer Playoff accedieron los seis mejores equipos de cada zona ordenados por el porcentaje de ganados y perdidos. En caso de empate en porcentaje de ganados y perdidos, el primer criterio de desempate era el dominio y el segundo criterio era el diferencial de carreras.
El acomodo del Primer Playoff será: sexto contra primero, quinto ante segundo y cuarto frente a tercero, de acuerdo con su porcentaje de ganados y perdidos.
A las Series de Zona avanzan los tres ganadores y el mejor perdedor. El mejor perdedor será el que, a pesar de haber perdido su serie de Primer Playoff, haya ganado más juegos que el resto de equipos perdedores. En caso de que haya dos o más equipos que hayan perdido su serie en la misma cantidad de enfrentamientos, se define el que avanza por medio de su porcentaje de ganados y perdidos en la temporada regular. Y si aún persiste el empate, el diferencial de carreras del Primer Playoff determinará al mejor perdedor.
El mejor perdedor quedará como el cuarto sembrado. En las Series de Zona, el mejor perdedor siempre jugará contra el clasificado mejor sembrado que no haya enfrentado en la primera serie de postemporada y los otros clubes se acomodarán de acuerdo con su posición en el standing. Los duelos en las Series de Zona serán cuarto contra primero y tercero contra segundo, siempre y cuando el mejor perdedor no haya enfrentado en el Primer Playoff al mejor posicionado; de ser así, su duelo sería ante el siguiente mejor sembrado.
Los ganadores de las Series de Zona jugarán las Series de Campeonato de la Zona Norte y la Zona Sur para definir los equipos que disputen la Serie del Rey 2021. En esta etapa se mantiene el criterio de que si avanza el mejor perdedor del Primer Playoff, iniciará como equipo visitante en su respectiva serie.
Si en la Serie del Rey se enfrentaran los dos mejores perdedores, el de mejor porcentaje de ganados y perdidos iniciará como local.
