The Biloxi Shuckers (27-47) rattled off eight unanswered runs to storm back and top the Montgomery Biscuits (40-32) 8-3 on Thursday night at MGM Park.

Trailing 2-0 going to the bottom of the sixth, the Shuckers used two home runs to vault in front. Ryan Aguilar led off the frame with a single and Brice Turang worked a walk in the ensuing at bat, ending the night for LHP Jacob Lopez. RHP Chris Muller (L, 1-1)(BS, 2) entered for the Biscuits and Mitch Longo greeted him with a three-run homer to right, his fifth of the year, giving the Shuckers a 3-2 advantage. After Muller retired the next two hitters, Chad Spanberger launched a solo home run over the left-field fence, making it 4-2 in favor of the Shuckers.

RHP Jesus Castillo (W, 3-5) came out for the seventh and struck out the side, tying a season-best seven strikeouts in the game. Over seven frames, Castillo allowed just two runs on six hits, his sixth straight outing of at least five innings pitched.

Biloxi hung another crooked number on the board in the bottom of the seventh. Gabriel Garcia started the inning with a solo home run to left, his fourth of the year, pushing the Shuckers ahead 5-2. Cam Devanney drew a four-pitch walk, Aguilar singled to center and Turang drew his second walk of the game, loading up the bases for Longo. The centerfielder drove in two more on a double to right field, blowing the game open to make it 7-2 Biloxi. A sacrifice fly by Alexander Palma finished off the scoring for the Shuckers.

RHP Justin Topa pitched the eighth inning and allowed one run on a hit and two walks. RHP Braden Webb came in to pitch the ninth and retired the side in order, striking out two in the process.

Castillo tossed two scoreless frames to begin his night but allowed a solo home run to Moises Gomez in the top of the third, his seventh of the season, that put Montgomery up 1-0. The Biscuits doubled their lead in the top of the fifth inning when Jim Haley led off the frame with a solo home run, his tenth of the season.

Leading the series 2-1, the Shuckers continue their seven-game match up against the Biscuits on Friday night with a double header. In Game One, RHP Justin Bullock (NR) is set to make his Double-A debut opposite Biscuits’ RHP Alex Valverde (2-5, 5.11). RHP Peyton Battenfield (3-0, 2.72) is set to start game two for the Biscuits while the Shuckers have not named a starter. Gates open at 5:00 pm for a 5:35 pm first pitch for Game 1. The game can be heard locally on Cruisin’ WGCM AM 1240/FM 100.9.
