Loons Pitching K’s 13, Davalan and Harlan Homer in 6-1 Win

DAYTON, Ohio. – The Great Lakes Loons (58-44) (22-16) for the fourth straight game launched two home runs, Chuck Davalan and Chase Harlan both went yard in a 6-1 win over the Dayton Dragons (56-48) (17-21) on a 74-degree cloudy Friday night at Day Air Ballpark. The first pitch was delayed for one hour and nine minutes due to rain.

- Chuck Davalan has 19 home runs in 2026, five have been to start games. Tonight was a leadoff homer; a 3-2 pitch crushed 406 feet to the berm beyond the right field fence. Davalan has 82 total bases and 10 homers since July 1st, the most by any Midwest Leaguer.

- Chase Harlan hammered a baseball off the Dragon on the top left side of the Day Air Ballpark scoreboard. The two-run shot gave Great Lakes a 3-0 lead in the first inning. Harlan’s fourth home run as a Loon traveled 435 feet.

- Loons pitching struck out 13. Sterling Patick punched out seven in his five innings. The left-hander struck out five consecutively, in the third and the first two outs in the fourth inning. Dayton’s John Michael Faile, who reached in all four plate appearances, tallied the only Dayton run. Faile hit a solo homer in the bottom of the sixth. Patick after giving up the homer, induced a groundout to end his day.

- Samuel Munoz and Jose Meza drove in the additional three runs. Munoz mashed an RBI double to the right field fence to cap a four-run first inning. Great Lakes scored two in the seventh. Meza brought home a run on an RBI single and Munoz added his second RBI with a groundout.

- Opener Matt Lanzendorfer stranded runners on the corners in the first inning. Cody Morse, Davis Chastain and Robby Porco each tossed a scoreless frame.

Rounding Things Out

Jaron Elkins earned his fourth multi-hit contest in his eighth game as a Loon. The Dodgers No. 24 prospect also stole his first base in High-A.
