READY TO TURN THE PAGE WITH A GOOD REED: The Louisville Bats look to bounce back against the Charlotte Knights with left-hander Cody Reed set to make his first appearance in a Louisville uniform this season. Reed has appeared in 34 games (33 starts) with the Bats between 2016-17, and has made 4 appearances out of the bullpen for Cincinnati to begin his 2018 campaign.

REHABBERS' DELIGHT: Reds infielder Eugenio Suárez will begin a Major League rehab assignment with Class AAA Louisville on Tuesday night, batting third in the lineup and playing third base. Suarez will be the fifth Reds player to make a rehab appearance with the Bats in 2018, joining LHP Brandon Finnegan , OF Scott Schebler and RHPs David Hernandez and Kevin Shackelford . Suarez last appeared with the Bats in 2015, appearing in 57 games and hitting .256 with 30 runs, 9 doubles, 2 triples, 8 home runs, 25 RBI and 3 stolen bases in his Louisville career.
DIXON GOES YARD: Designated hitter Brandon Dixon hit a solo home run in the eighth inning of last night's 5-3 loss to the Charlotte Knights. It was Dixon's first home run of 2018, and just the second homer the Bats have hit at Louisville Slugger Field this season (Elizalde, 4/10 vs COL). Dixon has reached base safely in all 11 of his appearances this season, all the more impressive when you consider 2 of them have come from pinch-hit appearances (4/15, 4/22).
SENZEL EXTENDS HIT STREAK TO 8 GAMES: Louisville has the #7 prospect in all of baseball (Baseball America) in infielder Nick Senzel . The 22-year-old is currently riding a 8-game hit streak, longest for a Bats player this season. He went 2-for-4 in Monday night's game, in a three-way tie for most on the team with Rosell Herrera and Mason Williams . Senzel, who was selected #2 overall in the 2016 MLB Draft, is the first Top 10 B-A prospect to appear in a Louisville uniform before making his MLB debut since LHP Aroldis Chapman in 2011, and the first position player since OF Jay Bruce in 2008.
R-H RAKES: Bats outfielder/infielder Rosell Herrera has proven to be an excellent minor league free agent signing for the Reds, appearing in several categories on the IL leaderboard coming into play Tuesday. Coming off the heels of a 2-for-4 game at the plate Monday, Herrera is tied for the IL lead in extra-base hits (9) with Pawtucket's Mike Olt , and ranks second in slugging percentage (.596) behind only Olt's .615 clip.
SCHOFIELD NAMED INTERIM MANAGER: The Cincinnati Reds announced Friday that Dick Schofield has been named interim manager for the Louisville Bats. Schofield, who was serving as Louisville's bench coach, replaces Pat Kelly , who managed the first 10 games of the 2018 season for Louisville, compiling a 4-6 record. Kelly was recently promoted to Major League bench coach for the Cincinnati Reds. The Reds also announced Darren Bragg will take over Schofield's previous role as Louisville's bench coach. Bragg is in his 12th season in the organization and was in his 10th as outfield coordinator at the time of his transfer to Louisville.
BATS SET ATTENDANCE RECORD ON SATURDAY: The Bats welcomed 14,658 fans to Louisville Slugger Field in Saturday's 8-5 victory over the Syracuse Chiefs for "Thunder at Slugger Day". Newly acquired right-hander Zach Neal got the win in his first game in a Louisville uniform, joining Zack Weiss (4/7) and Justin Nicolino (4/10) as pitchers to win in their LOU debuts this season. The record crowd broke the previous record of 14,331 fans set on April 23, 2016, also "Thunder at Slugger Day".
