The Louisville Bats’ new weather-themed alternate identity has been selected as one of seven finalists for Best New Alternate Identity in the 2026 Minor League Baseball Awards.

The winner will be determined by an online fan vote. Fans can vote for the Louisville Humidity as many times as they would like to through midnight ET on Tuesday, September 22.

The winning identity will be announced during the fourth annual MiLB Awards Show, airing live on MLB Network on Monday, September 28.

Unveiled last November, the Louisville Humidity celebrates one of the city’s most recognizable summer characteristics: the thick, sticky air that baseball fans know all too well. Rather than hide form the heat, Louisville baseball fans have embraced it. Remember, it’s not the heat that gets you, it’s the Louisville Humidity.

The logo features a perspiring baseball wiping its forehead with a glove while holding a bat in its other hand. The sweat beneath the baseball forms the shape of a fleur-de-lis, paying tribute to an iconic Louisville symbol. The on-field jerseys include drippy numbers and built-in sweat stains.

The Louisville Humidity debuted on June 13 in a 4-3 win over the Iowa Cubs at Louisville Slugger Field. The Bats played as the Louisville Humidity five times in 2026, going 3-2 in those games.

The identity was the brainchild of Bats Director of Strategic Alliances Chip Sobel, who first suggested the Louisville Humidity name when the Louisville Redbirds were preparing to change their name in the late 1990s. Bats Graphic Designer Max Oxley worked with Sobel to bring the decades-old idea to life.
