The Tampa Bay Rays announced their latest roster transactions on Thursday, optioning outfielder Josh Lowe and reassigning catcher Joe Hudson to minor league camp. The moves come a day after OF Vidal Brujan was optioned to minor league camp by Tampa Bay.

Lowe was mentioned earlier this week in our article highlighting MLB.com's top 10 Rays prospects. Lowe, listed as the #2 prospect with the Rays and #50 overall prospect in baseball, played 111 games last season with the Bulls. In his time with the team, he batted .291 (117-402), adding 76 runs, 22 homers and 78 RBI, along with 26 stolen bases. He was the first Bulls player to hit 20 or more home runs and steal 20 or more bases in a season since Justin Ruggiano in 2007.

Hudson, entering his eighth season, signed with the Rays as a minor league free agent on March 10. Last season, he played in 47 games for the Pittsburgh Pirates Triple-A affiliate Indianapolis Indians, batting .188 (29-154) adding 11 runs, seven doubles, three home runs and 18 RBI. In 560 career minor league contests he has posted a .221 average (402-1817) with 36 homers and 199 RBI.

The Bulls begin their 2022 season on the road for a six-game series against the Nashville Sounds April 5th-April 10th. The Bulls will have their home opener on April 12th as they will kick off a five-game series against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp at the DBAP.
