PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. (May 6, 2018) - Nate Lowe and Jesús Sánchez both notched four hits Sunday as the Charlotte Stone Crabs reached double digits for the seventh time this season, beating the Bradenton Marauders 10-3 at Charlotte Sports Park.
The win brings the Stone Crabs (15-15) back to five-hundred for the season, completing a 4-2 week at home.
After falling behind 1-0 in the bottom of the second, Nate Lowe led off the inning by homering to left center to tie the game at one. After Charlotte loaded the bases with two outs, Miles Mastrobuoni drew a walk to force in another run and give the Stone Crabs a 2-1 lead.
Still up one in the bottom of the fourth, Joey Roach singled with two outs before Mastrobuoni cranked a two-run home run to right, extending the Stone Crabs' advantage to 4-1.
Leading by that margin in the fifth, Lowe singled to right before Sanchez chopped a double over first to move runners to second and third with one out. Peter Maris followed with a triple to the gap in right to score both runners and make it 6-1.
Charlotte starter Kenny Rosenberg (2-1) went six innings, allowing only two runs on four hits while striking out six to get the win. Spencer Jones turned in a perfect inning of relief.
The Stone Crabs scored four more times in the sixth on four hits and two walks to put the game out of reach. They are now 11-3 at home this season.
Charlotte will hit the road Monday, starting a three-game series with the Fort Myers Miracle at 7 p.m. Coverage starts at 6:45 p.m. on the Stone Crabs Baseball Network.
