The Bees' offense grabbed the lead first for the second straight game. Brennon Lund got things started with a one-out double and then stole third base, one of his three stolen bases in the game. Brannan Morgan extended his hitting streak to seven games with a single up the middle, scoring Lund, giving the Bees a 1-0 lead in the first inning.
Lansing stormed back in the bottom of the second inning. The Lugnuts scored three runs thanks to an Edward Olivares RBI triple, a RBI single by J.B. Woodman and a RBI double from Bo Bichette, giving the Lugnuts a 3-1 lead.
The Bees had a three-run inning of the own in the top of the third inning. The first three Bees' hitters in the inning walked. The Bees cut the deficit to one on a wild pitch scoring Brennon Lund. With the bases loaded and still nobody out, Josh Merrigan singled to left, scoring Morgan, tying the game at three. Jeyson Sanchez put the Bees on top when he was hit by a pitch, scoring Sam McDonnell, giving the Bees a 4-3 lead.
The Bees couldn't add any more in the third, leaving the bases loaded, and the Lugnuts took advantage. Lansing sent eight batters to the plate in the fourth inning. With two outs and the bases loaded, Ryan Hissey smacked a bases-clearing double, putting the Lugnuts back on top, 6-4. Christian Williams then made it 7-4 with a single to right, scoring Hissey.
Lansing went on to score one more in the sixth and another in the eighth, beating the Bees 9-4. Griffin Glaude (1-1) earned the win for the Lugnuts while Andrew Vinson (2-3) was charged with the loss.
