Mariners Promote Brock Rodden To MLB

August 14, 2026 — EVERETT, Wash.: Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Justin Hollander announced today that infielder Brock Rodden has been promoted to the Mariners’ MLB roster from the Triple-A Tacoma Rainiers.

Rodden, a 26-year-old from Durant, Oklahoma, was originally drafted by the Mariners in the fifth round (No. 160 overall) of the 2023 MLB First-Year Player Draft out of Wichita State University. Prior to being drafted, the switch-hitting Rodden played his first two years of college baseball with Seminole State College, later transferring to Wichita State for his sophomore and junior seasons. During his last season as a WSU Shocker, Rodden was named American Athletic Conference Player of the Year while also being unanimously selected as First Team All-Conference at second base.

Following his selection by Seattle, the Mariners’ No. 19 prospect made his professional debut with the ACL Mariners on July 21, 2023, playing in two games before receiving a promotion to the Single-A Modesto Nuts to end the season. Across 32 games with the Nuts, Rodden tore up the California League, hitting .319 while collecting 11 doubles, two triples, two home runs, 20 RBIs, and 11 walks.

After tearing up the California League to wrap up 2023, he received a promotion to the High-A Everett AquaSox, where he made the Opening Day Roster. Playing just 67 games with the AquaSox, Rodden hit at a high clip, batting .302 with 14 doubles, three triples, nine home runs, and 33 RBIs. He also displayed a strong batter’s eye and speed, walking 42 times while racking up 21 stolen bases. Rodden’s efforts earned him a promotion to the Double-A Arkansas Travelers, where he appeared in 64 games and notched 13 doubles to round out his 2024 season.

Rodden returned to Little Rock to begin his 2025 campaign, joining the Travelers straight out of Spring Training. Facing injuries during the season, he played just 37 games with Arkansas, performing strongly in the short sample size by hitting .295 with 10 doubles, five home runs, and 22 RBIs to go along with 14 stolen bases.

In 2026, Rodden was named to the Opening Day Roster for the Triple-A Tacoma Rainiers. With the Rainiers, he hit .262, recording 22 doubles, three triples, 19 home runs, and 65 RBIs in what was his most powerful showcase yet. He also totaled a career-best .499 slugging percentage in his first taste of Triple-A.

Rodden is expected to debut tonight against the Houston Astros, suiting up to play shortstop while hitting ninth in Mariners Manager Dan Wilson’s batting order. With his debut, he will be the fifth member of the Mariners’ 2023 draft class to make his MLB debut, and he is the sixth AquaSox alum to get promoted to the big leagues for the first time in 2026. Rodden joins Nick Davila, Colt Emerson, Gabriel Gonzalez, Adam Macko, and Curtis Washington Jr. as former Frogs to join their respective clubs.

In correspondence with Rodden's promotion, Emerson has been placed on the 10-day injured list with left wrist tendon inflammation.
