Mason Peters Excels In Everett AquaSox Debut

August 13, 2026 — EVERETT, Wash.: Led by a home run and excellent starting pitching, the Everett AquaSox defeated the Spokane Indians 7-1 to secure their third consecutive victory in front of 2,031 fans at Everett Memorial Stadium on Thursday’s Camp Day matinee.
Everett’s offense immediately got to work during the bottom of the first inning, bringing home the first two runs of the game. Korbyn Dickerson singled and Luke Stevenson walked to place pressure on the basepaths, and Aiden Taurek capitalized on the opportunity by hitting an RBI single. Brandon Eike then added an RBI double in the next at-bat, scoring Stevenson. The score held until the bottom of the third as Ricardo Cova hit an RBI double to bring home the Frogs’ third run.

Making his AquaSox debut, left-handed pitcher and Seattle Mariners No. 13 prospect Mason Peters dealt 3.1 scoreless frames in his first High-A start. Across his outing, the 22-year-old native of Waco, Texas, struck out six and allowed only one hit while walking just one batter. Additionally, the Dallas Baptist University alum’s shutout outing was his ninth of the season when accounting for his time spent with the Single-A Inland Empire 66ers.

Dickerson delivered a two-run, opposite-field home run that cleared the Engineered Sports Overhead Door during the bottom of the fourth inning, setting the AquaSox ahead 5-0. Keeping the Indians out of the scoring column until the top of the sixth was right-hander Ben Hernandez, who tossed 1.2 scoreless innings while allowing just one hit.

Tanner Thach put the Indians in the scoring column during the top of the sixth, lining an RBI single into right field after Ethan Hedges singled and advanced to second base on a wild pitch. The Frogs’ four-run lead stood tall until the bottom of the eighth as Austin St. Laurent plated a pair of insurance runs by lining a two-run double into left center field.

Closing out the victory for the Frogs was right-hander Wyatt Lunsford-Shenkman, who pitched two shutout innings and struck out two. Additionally, the 23-year-old allowed just one hit during his outing as Everett locked down their third victory of the six-game Northwest League series.
