SAN ANTONIO, Texas (May 31, 2024) – Behind Nick Krauth, the Frisco RoughRiders downed the San Antonio Missions 4-1 on Friday night from Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium.

Krauth (4-2), the Frisco (32-17) starter, went a season-best seven innings, allowing just one run on five hits while striking out five and walking one. He exited throwing just 75 pitches on the night.

Offensively, Frisco scored in the second off of San Antonio (22-26) starter Austin Krob (2-2) when Cooper Johnson hammered a three-run home run. It was Johnson's fourth of the season and his second of the series.

After the Missions plated their only run on an RBI double from Robert Perez Jr. in the fourth, the 3-1 score held until the ninth. Alex De Goti scored on a double steal when the throw went down to second to try and catch Geisel Cepeda, pushing the score to 4-1.

Robby Ahlstrom finished out the game for the Riders on the hill, recording a six-out save for his team-best third save on the year.

Cepeda paced the Riders with two hits and Frainyer Chavez also collected a pair of hits on the day.

Kellen Strahm went 0-for-5, bringing his 32-game on-base streak to an end.

Next, the RoughRiders continue their seven-game series with the Missions at 7:05 p.m. on Saturday, June 1st. RHP Dane Acker (2-1, 2.72) is slated to take the hill for the Riders against RHP Jared Kollar (3-2, 3.53).
