McFarlane Named Phillies Minor League Pitcher of the Month

JERSEY SHORE, NJ - BlueClaws RHP Alex McFarlane was named Phillies Minor League Pitcher of the Month for July.

The right-hander made four starts last month and gave up four runs in 17 innings with 23 strikeouts and seven walks, and he has allowed four earned runs in 22 innings with 32 strikeouts in his last five starts overall.

He threw five no-hit innings in his July 2nd start, and two relievers finished off the eighth no-hitter in BlueClaws history. He followed that game up with five scoreless innings at Aberdeen on July 10th.

Originally from St. Thomas (Virgin Islands), McFarlane was a 4th round pick in the 2022 draft from the University of Miami.

He is the first BlueClaw to win a Phillies weekly award this year and the first to win Phillies Minor League Pitcher of the Month since Rafael Marcano in August of 2023.
