MEMPHIS, TN – The Memphis Redbirds dropped game two of a six-game series with the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp at AutoZone Park on Wednesday night by a final score of 10-4.

Starting pitcher Aaron Brooks settled in nicely after allowing four runs in the second inning. The right-handed pitcher finished retiring 18 of the last 20 batters he faced and lasted seven innings. On the night, Brooks struck out five Jacksonville batters.

Offensively, left fielder Alec Burleson and catcher Austin Romine led the way, each going 2-for-4. In the loss, Memphis tallied nine hits. In the bottom of the ninth, right fielder Moises Gomez lined his first career Triple-A hit, an RBI single to plate Romine.

With his 21st stolen base of the season, center fielder Ben DeLuzio moves in to 8th place in Redbirds single-season history in the category. DeLuzio broke a tie with Adam Kennedy, Jon Jay, Kolten Wong and Tommy Pham, who each had a season with 20 stolen bases.

The Memphis Redbirds (42-32) return to AutoZone Park for game three of a six-game series against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (39-35) for a 7:05 p.m. CDT first pitch on Thursday, June 30.
