MEMPHIS, TN – The Memphis Redbirds took game two of the six-game series against the Durham Bulls on Wednesday night at AutoZone Park by a final score of 6-3.

Memphis extended its league-leading home run streak to 16 games on Wednesday night. On the night, the Redbirds blasted two more homers in the early innings.

In the bottom of the first, shortstop Paul DeJong hit his sixth home run of his Triple-A season to tie the game at one. Third baseman Cory Spangenberg then added a solo shot in the third to but Memphis up 2-1.

The Redbirds continued to add on late, with two runs in each the sixth and seventh innings to coast to a 7-3 lead. In total, five Redbirds recorded multi-hit games, including right fielder Dylan Carlson. Carlson went 2-for-3 in his second start with Memphis in as many days to continue his MLB rehab assignment.

Redbirds starter Matthew Liberatore (4-3) calmly glided through six innings of work to earn the win in his first start with Memphis since being optioned by St. Louis. The left-handed pitcher struck out three batters and allowed two earned runs on six hits.

The Memphis Redbirds (33-23) will return home to AutoZone Park for game three of a six-game series and 12-game homestand against the Durham Bulls on Thursday, June 9 for a 7:05 p.m. CDT first pitch.
