Michael Kopech Promoted To Triple-A Charlotte

The Chicago White Sox and Birmingham Barons announced today that top pitching prospect Michael Kopech has been promoted to Triple-A Charlotte.

Kopech, 21, is 8-7, with a 2.87 ERA in 22 starts for the Barons this season. The No. 1 pitching prospect in the MLB leads the Southern League and is sixth in all of Minor League Baseball with 155 strikeouts this season. Kopech, who was acquired from the Boston Red Sox as part of a four-player package for Chris Sale this offseason, is 4-1, with a 0.66 ERA in his last six starts.
Scott Snodgress has been activated from the Disabled List as the corresponding move.
