Jacob Misiorowski Named Southern League Pitcher of the Week

BILOXI, MS – Today, Minor League Baseball announced that Biloxi Shuckers pitcher, Jacob Misiorowski, was named the Southern League Pitcher of the Week for August 14 to 20, 2023. The award is the second of Misiorowski’s career, having been named the Carolina League Pitcher of the Week on May 28 of this year.

The Brewers’ top pitching prospect tied the Shuckers’ single-game record and set a career-high with 12 strikeouts in his start last Tuesday against the Mississippi Braves at Trustmark Park. He also allowed one hit and set career-highs with six shutout innings and 96 pitches

Misiorowski became the sixth player in Shuckers’ franchise history to strike out 12 in a game and the first since Ethan Small on June 12, 2021, against the Mississippi Braves. He led the charge in a week that saw the Shuckers’ pitching staff allow 11 runs over six games against the M-Braves in a series win.

The righty was the Brewers’ second-round pick in the 2022 Draft out of Crowder College in Missouri. He enters today as the 37^th-best overall prospect by Baseball America and the 38^th-best overall prospect by MLB Pipeline.
