BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – The Binghamton Rumble Ponies, the Double-A affiliate of the New York Mets, announced on Monday that infielder Mitch Voit was named the Eastern League Player of the Week for the week of August 3-9.

Voit has won the award in back-to-back weeks, which were his first two series at the Double-A level since being promoted from High-A Brooklyn on July 27.

Voit, who ranks as the Mets’ No. 6 prospect, produced a .611 AVG (11-for-18), .682 OBP, .778 SLG, and 1.460 OPS in five games against the Hartford Yard Goats at Mirabito Stadium this past week. In his second series at the Double-A level, Voit recorded four runs batted in, nine runs, three doubles, four walks, and three stolen bases.

On Thursday, the 21-year-old went 5-for-6 with five runs scored, two runs batted in and a walk. He tied a Double-A Binghamton franchise record for the most hits in a single game and the most runs scored in a single game. Voit tied Joe Terdoslavich for the most hits (5) in a single game, which was set on July 25, 2018, against Double-A Bowie (BAL). He tied Ryan Clifford for the most runs scored (5) in a single game, which was set on July 27, 2025, against Double-A Reading (PHI).

Voit recorded three multi-hit games and two multi-RBI games in the series, with a three-hit game on Tuesday and a two-hit game on Saturday.

Voit, who was drafted by the Mets with the 38th overall pick in the first round of the 2025 MLB Draft out of the University of Michigan, ranked among the Eastern League this past week: AVG (1st), OBP (1st), OPS, (1st), R (1st), H (T-1st), 2B (T-2nd), and SLG (5th).

He ranked among Double-A: AVG (1st), OBP (1st), R (1st), H (T-1st), OPS (3rd), SLG (T-8th) and among Minor League Baseball: AVG (2nd) and OBP (T-2nd).

Since being promoted to Double-A Binghamton, Voit has reached base safely in all 11 games, with hits in nine games, and has produced a .550 AVG, .633 OBP, .850 SLG, and 1.483 OPS with one home run, nine runs batted in, 19 runs scored, seven doubles, nine extra-base hits, nine walks (just six strikeouts) and six stolen bases. He has recorded six multi-hit games and three multi-RBI games.

This is Voit’s second-straight Eastern League award and second award at any level in Minor League Baseball. When Voit won EL Player of the Week last week (July 28-August 2), it marked Binghamton’s first Eastern League weekly award of the season and the first since Ryan Clifford won Eastern League Player of the Week for July 21-27, 2025. Last season, Binghamton garnered seven weekly awards, four monthly awards, and three yearly awards in the Eastern League.

Voit, who is in his first full season of professional baseball, has now produced a .279 AVG, .384 OBP, .450 SLG, and .834 OPS with 12 HR, 50 RBI, 66 R, 32 XBH, and 42 SB across High-A Brooklyn and Double-A Binghamton. He leads the Mets organization with 42 stolen bases and ranks third with 66 runs.

The Binghamton Rumble Ponies open a six-game road series against the Portland Sea Dogs (Double-A, Boston Red Sox) at Delta Dental Park at Hadlock Field on Tuesday night. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. The game will be broadcast on WNBF News Radio 1290 AM and 92.1 FM, and on the WNBF App.
