Tulsa, OK-Andrew Moore pitched brilliantly for seven innings and the Travelers offense came on late scoring eight times in the final two innings to pull away for a 9-1 win on Thursday night. Moore surrendered a solo homer to Will Smith in the fifth inning but fought around leadoff runners

Tulsa, OK-Andrew Moore pitched brilliantly for seven innings and the Travelers offense came on late scoring eight times in the final two innings to pull away for a 9-1 win on Thursday night. Moore surrendered a solo homer to Will Smith in the fifth inning but fought around leadoff runners in three other innings to keep the Drillers to just one run. Other than the homer, Moore did not allow a Tulsa runner past first base. The decisive blows offensively came in the eighth inning as Arkansas sent 11 men to the plate scoring six times. They connected for four hits with runners in scoring position in the inning after not having any over the first seven innings.
Moments That Mattered

  • Joey Curletta opened the scoring by producing an RBI groundout with the bases loaded in the third inning.
  • Chris Mariscal, Seth Mejias-Brean, Joseph Odom and Yonathan Mendoza led off the eighth with four straight singles to give the Travs the lead.
  • Braden Bishop and Beau Amaral delivered sacrifice flies to add on to the lead.
  • Andrew Aplin capped the big eighth inning with a two-run double.
