PEARL, MS -- The Mississippi Braves (16-37, 50-73) finished the series on a high note, winning the final two games against the Pensacola BlueWahoos (26-29, 66-59) with stellar pitching and timely hitting at Trustmark Park. In Sunday's series finale, Dylan Moore delivered a walkoff single to seal the M-Braves' 3-2 victory.
Wes Parsons made his seventh start of the year, and the righty did not disappoint, delivering seven scoreless innings on the mound. Parsons scattered three hits and a walk with six strikeouts, matching his season high in innings pitched. The reliever was brilliant, getting ahead of hitters early and putting them away with a sharp slider. In relief, the M-Braves needed three arms to record six outs over the final two innings.

In the second, the M-Braves started the scoring with a Jared James triple followed by an RBI-double from Travis Demeritte. Mississippi struggled to get runners on base against Pensacola starter José López, but took advantage of them when they did, taking a 1-0 lead after two innings. In the sixth, the home team's offense struck again, scoring a run on three consecutive singles to take a 2-0 advantage. The M-Braves ended up doubling the Blue Wahoos hit total 8 to 4 in the victory.
In the eighth, the M-Braves began to struggle on the mound. Mauricio Cabrera threw a beleaguered eighth, walking two and allowing an unearned run on an Alex Jackson throwing error. In the ninth, the strike zone woes continued for Corbin Clouse. He lasted just a third of an inning, facing three batters and giving up a walk and single. Jacob Webb was tasked with getting the save but allowed a game-tying sacrifice fly by Gavin LaValley before retiring the side.
In the bottom of the ninth, the M-Braves started the rally with a leadoff single from Demeritte. After Jonathan Morales was hit by a pitch, Connor Lien was unsuccessful in bunting the runners forward. After another out, Tyler Neslony earned a two-out walk to load the bases for Moore who then delivered a single through the right side to plate the winning run.
