BUFFALO, NY - This afternoon the Toronto Blue Jays announced that C DANNY JANSEN has been returned to the team from his Major League Injury Rehab assignment. In a corresponding move, top organizational prospect C GABRIEL MORENO has been optioned to the Bisons.

Moreno appeared in 36 games for the Herd prior to his first big league promotion on June 11. The young phenom was batting .326 (44-136) with one home run and 32 RBI prior to his selection to Toronto. He immediately made an impact when he joined the Bisons on April 12, going eight for his first 21 at the plate, good for a .381 batting average.

Defensively, Moreno threw out 15 of the 28 stolen base attempts for Buffalo as well, recording a 54% caught stealing which was best in the International League prior to his call-up. He was also charged with just three passed balls behind the plate.

The 22-year-old collected his first career Major League hit in his MLB debut on June 11 against the Detroit Tigers. Moreno recorded at least one base hit in four of the five games he appeared in this month for the Blue Jays as well.
