In all, the 132-game schedule runs from April 7 to September 10 and features an even split of 66 home games and 66 road games across 11 homestands and 12 road trips. Carolina’s home schedule includes 12 home games in April, May, June, and July. Five County Stadium will then see 15 home dates in August and three in September.

The schedule also consists of 21 six-game series and two three-game series, including Carolina’s season opening three-game road series in Fayetteville. The 2023 schedule once again includes a mid-season break with a four straight off-days coinciding with MLB All-Star festivities beginning on Monday, July 10 through Thursday, July 13.

Of the 23 scheduled series, nine are divisional matchups versus teams in Carolina's division, the Carolina League North. Those nine series consist of 66 games with 24 versus Down East (12 home, 12 away), 12 versus Delmarva (six home, six away), 12 versus Lynchburg (six home, six away), 12 versus Salem (six home, six away), and six versus Fredericksburg (six home).

For the third straight season, the Mudcats will not face the South Division’s Charleston RiverDogs. The RiverDogs remain the only team the Mudcats have yet to play since the Carolina League was reconstructed in 2021.
