SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Northwest Arkansas dropped the final game of the four-game series, 8-4 at Hammons Field against the Springfield Cardinals on Wednesday night. The loss makes it five straight for the Naturals.
Donnie Dewees provided the early spark for the Naturals, clubbing his seventh home run of the season against Chris Ellis in the third inning. The Naturals tacked on three more runs in the fourth frame.<o:p>

Allan de San Miguel doubled down the leftfield line to plate two runs and he eventually came around to score on a run-scoring fielder's choice by Nicky Lopez to give the Naturals a 4-0 lead.
Starter, Emilio Ogando , worked 5.0 innings and retired 12 of the first 14 hitters faced before the Cardinals tied the game at 4-4 in the fifth frame. Springfield scored an unearned run in the seventh inning to take a 5-4 lead and three more in the eighth en route to the 8-4 final score.
The Naturals return home a for a four-game series against the Tulsa Drillers on Thursday, July 20 at Arvest Ballpark. Right-hander, Glenn Sparkman (0-0, 5.06) takes the hill for his second start of the season against right-hander, David Hale (0-0, 5.79) for the Drillers in the 7:05 p.m. first pitch.
