TULSA, OK – Despite jumping out to an early lead in the second, the Northwest Arkansas Naturals could only muster two hits, as the Tulsa Drillers scored four unanswered runs in a 4-2 loss for the Naturals in Sunday’s series finale.

Second baseman Morgan McCullough doubled in two runs in the second inning to give the Naturals an early 2-0 lead. However, Northwest Arkansas only managed one hit the rest of the night, an infield single from center fielder Diego Hernández that led off the sixth inning.

Starting pitcher Alec Marsh took a tough loss, allowing three runs (two earned) over 5.0 innings, while walking one and striking out two.

The Drillers struck for a run in the bottom of the second against Marsh, then added two in the fifth to jump ahead for good, on back-to-back singles after an error opened the inning.

Left-hander Christian Chamberlain returned to the mound with a scoreless sixth inning, then the Drillers tagged Nate Webb for a run of insurance in the seventh. C.J. Eldred only needed six pitches for a 1-2-3 eighth, but the Naturals went quietly in the ninth inning, as Tulsa pitching retired the final seven and faced the minimum over the last 12 batters.

Designated hitter Tyler Gentry went 0-for-4 and barely missed beating out a ground ball in the ninth inning, as his 28 game on-base streak game to an end.

After a day off Monday, the Naturals head to Wichita Tuesday to open the final road series of the year, six games at Riverfront Stadium against the Wind Surge.
