October 1, 2026 — EVERETT, Wash.: Everett AquaSox General Manager Danny Tetzlaff announced Thursday that Nellie Kemp has been named Assistant General Manager of the ballclub, moving into an executive leadership role following five seasons spent working full-time in the AquaSox Front Office.
“Nellie has been a natural leader since day one with the AquaSox so this promotion is a total no-brainer,” Tetzlaff said. “We’re all about creating fun, unforgettable memories for our fans, and Nellie knows exactly how to make every single game a night to remember. She’s a huge part of our community and the ultimate team player. This is well-deserved, and it really shows the incredible passion and hard work she brings to the ballpark every day.”
She first joined the AquaSox as a day-of-game staff member in 2019, helping out in concessions as a fun summertime job. Nellie was later hired full-time in 2021, going on to direct community relations and merchandise for five years. Her responsibilities included scheduling Webbly appearances, fundraising for AquaSox Charities, ticket sales, merchandise oversight, and special event planning, among other tasks.
Highlights for Nellie during her time as Director of Community Relations and Merchandise included establishing marquee AquaSox events such as Education Day, Recovery Day, and the AquaSox Hot Stove Banquet, and she also takes pride in helping the AquaSox set a record-high attendance total during the team’s 2025 Northwest League Championship season.
Born and raised in Marysville, Washington, Nellie grew up going to AquaSox games as a kid — even attending to watch Seattle Mariners Hall of Famer Jay Buhner suit up for the Frogs while playing on an injury rehab assignment. A Pacific Northwesterner through-and-through, she attended the University of Washington where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree.
For business inquiries, Nellie may be reached at [email protected] or by calling the AquaSox Front Office at 425-258-3673.
The AquaSox begin their 2027 season at Everett Memorial Stadium on Friday, April 2, as they host the Spokane Indians. First pitch timing for the game is to be determined at a later time.
