WHITAKER BANK BALLPARK (Lexington, KY) - Blue Cap Entertainment in conjunction with the Lexington Legends announce today that the successful tradition of concerts held at Whitaker Bank Ballpark continues as Nelly's concert set for May 19, 2018 is now officially sold out. With over 7,000 tickets sold in a short time, it has been made clear that Lexington is excited to see the hip hop star.
This is not the first sellout in Whitaker Bank Ballpark history. Other sellout concerts include the Red, White and Boom Country Festival, Jason Aldean and Florida George Line. Other big names have graced Whitaker Bank Ballpark such as Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, Hank Williams Jr., Randy Travis, LeAnn Rimes, Alan Jackson, Maroon 5 and now Nelly. Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and Juvenile will be the opening acts for Nelly on May 19.
"It's no surprise that a rap superstar such as Nelly would fill Whitaker Bank Ballpark. We are so excited to have another sellout and are looking forward to a fantastic show," said Legends President/CEO Andy Shea.
Nelly's Country Grammar album and his song Cruise with Florida Georgia Line both achieved Diamond status in 2016. Nelly has performed on NBC's The VoiceThe American Music Awards, ABC's Greatest Hits and served as a judge on CW's The Next. His hits include: "Hot in Here" - "Dilemma" [feat. Kelly Rowland] "Country Grammar" "Ride Wit Me" "Just a Dream"- "Cruise", "The Fix" sampling Marvin Gaye, and dance anthem "Millionaire" with Cash Cash and Digital Animal Farm. Nelly has also performed alongside some of the country's most prestigious orchestras including the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, Columbus Symphony and Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.
Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony became quickly known for their fast-paced melodic style and harmonies. Bone Thugs-N-Harmony's hits include "Thuggish Ruggish Bone", "1st of tha Month" and their Grammy winning and Double Platinum smash hit, "Tha Crossroads". Juvenile is an American rapper, actor and songwriter. Having come up in the group Hot Boys, alongside superstar Lil Wayne, New Orleans rapper, Juvenile is also a Southern hip-hop veteran.
