The Somerset Patriots overpowered the Bowie Baysox by a score of 10-0 on Friday night in the fourth of a six-game series at TD Bank Ballpark.

With 10 K, Patriots pitchers have struck out 10+ in seven of their last eight games and 58 total times this season.

The shutout marked the Patriots second of the week and seventh of the season. Somerset’s pitching staff has thrown to a 2.45 ERA over the first four games of the series, striking out 40 in 33 IP.

The Patriots have now won seven of their last eight contests.

LHP Nestor Cortes (4 IP, 0 R, 2 H, 5 K) took the no decision, throwing 49 pitches in his second rehab start for the Patriots, returning from a Left Rotator Cuff Strain.

LHP Ryan Anderson (2 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 2 K) earned his first Double-A win, hurling hitless 5th and 6th frames.

Anderson is yet to allow a run in seven appearances, spanning 10.1 IP for Somerset since his promotion on 6/23. Anderson extended his scoreless streak to 18.2 IP over 11 appearances between Somerset and Hudson Valley dating back to 5/3, allowing only 4 H with 22 K over that span.
