When the New York Mets finalized the roster for Triple-A Las Vegas this spring, two names on it made the 51s a must-watch team for Minor League fans.
On Monday night, Amed Rosario and Dominic Smith backed up the hype. They both went 2-for-4, with Rosario (the Mets' top prospect) delivering two doubles -- including the game-winner -- two runs and two walks, and second-ranked Smith socking a colossal homer and driving in three runs in Las Vegas' 7-6 win in 11 innings over Albuquerque.

Box score
Both Rosario and Smith rank among MLB.com's Top 100 Prospects, The former, No. 3 overall, is a slick-fielding shortstop with a great arm and 60 grades for hitting and running on the 20-80 scouting scale. The latter, No. 56, is a defensive standout at first base and a terrific left-handed bat with solid power potential.
That tool was apparent with two outs and Rosario on first in the third inning. The 21-year-old Los Angeles native stepped in against No. 26 Rockies prospectHarrison Musgrave, whom he'd already gotten to for an RBI single in the first. Smith fouled off the southpaw's first offering, but launched the second well over the right-field wall for his third home run of the season.

Through 25 games, the 2013 first-rounder is hitting .343/.393/.515 with nine extra-base hits and 18 RBIs.
Meanwhile Rosario, who bats directly in front of cleanup man Smith for the 51s, stands first among active Pacific Coast League hitters with a .409 average. The native of the Dominican Republic has posted multiple hits in 14 of 24 games -- including seven of his last nine -- and went hitless just three times all April.
After No. 6 New York prospect Gavin Cecchini notched his third hit of the game with two outs in the 11th, Rosario came to the dish against Nelson Gonzalez. He pulled an 0-1 pitch deep to left, allowing Cecchini to race home from first.
Fifth-ranked Colorado prospect and No. 83 overall Raimel Tapia went 2-for-6 with an RBI and a run scored for Albuquerque.
