Signed out of Cuba by the Reds on January 11, 2010, Chapman has thrown 13 pitches this season clocked at 101 mph or faster according to MLB Statcast. Last season, Chapman threw the fastest pitch in the Statcast era, 105.1 mph.
In his eight-year major league career, Chapman carries a 2.12 ERA in 397 appearances. In 389.2 innings he's struck out 657 batters (15.2/9 innings) and led all National League relievers in strikeouts each season from 2012-15.
