New York Yankees LHP Aroldis Chapman  is expected to rehab with the Thunder on Friday, June 16 when the team hosts the Erie Seawolves at 7pm. 

Chapman, who is recovering from left rotator cuff inflammation, will start Friday's game and pitch one inning. 

A four-time National League All-Star, Chapman was originally acquired from the Cincinnati Reds in a trade that sent four former Thunder players, INF Tony Renda, INF Eric Jagielo, RHP Rookie Davis  and RHP Caleb Cotham, to the Reds on December 28, 2015. The Yankees traded Chapman to the Chicago Cubs on July 25, 2016 and received four players, INF Gleyber Torres, OF Rashad Crawford, OF Billy McKinney, and RHP Adam Warren , who have appeared in a Thunder uniform. Following his World Series win with the Cubs, the Yankees signed Chapman to a five-year contract extending through the 2021 season with a player opt-out after the 2019 season. 

Signed out of Cuba by the Reds on January 11, 2010, Chapman has thrown 13 pitches this season clocked at 101 mph or faster according to MLB Statcast. Last season, Chapman threw the fastest pitch in the Statcast era, 105.1 mph. 

In his eight-year major league career, Chapman carries a 2.12 ERA in 397 appearances. In 389.2 innings he's struck out 657 batters (15.2/9 innings) and led all National League relievers in strikeouts each season from 2012-15.
