JACKSONVILLE, FL -- John Norwood blasted a solo home run to center field with one out in the bottom of the ninth as the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp walked off with a 4-3 victory over the Mississippi Braves for the second consecutive night.
Connor Lien led the M-Braves (22-21) offensively with a 3-for-4 night at the plate. He scored twice and drove home a run with a solo homer. Sal Giardina added a 2-for-4 performance as the Braves plated three runs on eight hits. Jacksonville (17-26) scored four runs on five hits in the win.
The M-Braves took a 1-0 lead in the second. Sal Giardina and Lien both singled to put runners at the corners with no outs. Wes Parsons then delivered a RBI-single to center.

Lien singled to lead off the fifth before Luis Valenzuela lined a double to center field, driving home Lien and extending the Braves lead to 2-0.
Jacksonville plated three runs in the sixth to take a 3-2 lead. Alex Yarbrough tripled and David Vidal walked to start the frame. Brian Anderson then delivered a RBI-single to center, and Cal Towey ripped a two-run double to right.
Lein added a solo home run in the ninth to tie the game at 3-3.
However, the Jumbo Shrimp responded in the bottom of the frame when Norwood delivered a solo shot to walk off with a 4-3 victory.
Andy Beltre (1-0) picked up the win for Jacksonville. Jesse Biddle (0-2) took the loss for Mississippi.
Neither starter factored in the decision. Parsons tossed 5.2 innings for the Braves. He gave up one earned run on two hits and a walk while fanning five batters. Matt Tomshaw worked six frames for Jacksonville, giving up two earned runs on seven hits and a walk. He struck out six batters.
In game three of this five-game set, M-Braves RHP Matt Withrow (1-2, 2.88) toes the rubber. First pitch is scheduled for 2:05 PM CST.
