The Patriots had three separate leads in the game (4-0, 7-5 and 9-7), but allowed a season-high 16 hits in their second straight loss. In the final three innings of the game, Hartford scored seven runs on eight hits, including three home runs.
Offensively, Somerset’s 14 hits tied a season-high for the third time this season. Every Patriots batter from 4-9 in the order secured multiple hits.
RHP Blane Abeyta (5.1 IP, 8 H, 3 ER, 1 BB, 5 K) started for Somerset and did not factor into a decision.
SS Trey Sweeney (1-for-5, 2 RBI, R, 2B, BB, 2 K) secured his third straight multi-RBI game with a bases loaded double that gave the Patriots a 7-5 lead in the 8th

DH Ben Rice (2-for-5, 2 RBI, R) picked up two hits in his Double-A debut. Rice’s first hit tied the game at 5-5 in the eighth inning for Somerset. His second hit gave the Patriots an 8-7 lead one inning later in the top of the ninth.
1B T.J. Rumfield (2-for-4, 2 RBI) picked up two hits for the second straight game and fourth time in his last five games. In five games since the All-Star break, Rumfield is 7-for-18 (.389/.522/.556) with 4 RBI, 2 R, 3 2B and 4 BB.
