Osinski Walks Off in Nail Biter

After rain suspended the beginning of their series opener against the Vermont Lake Monsters (42-32), the Spinners (33-42) kicked off a double header with a down to the wire matchup.
Nick Duron started the game on Wednesday and struck out five in two shutout innings of work before rain suspended the game.
Taylor Ahearn resumed the game on Thursday with five scoreless innings out of the bullpen. He struck out four, walked none, and allowed three hits.
Left-hander Ryan Odubar closed the game out with two scoreless innings to complete the shutout for the Spinners.
Juan Barriento led off the bottom of the ninth with a single before Michael Osinski ripped a double to right-center field to bring Barriento all the way home from first, capping off a thrilling 1-0 victory for the Spinners.

The second game of the series finale double header would not go as smoothly for the Spinners.
Vermont jumped out to an early lead in the top of the second of lefty Yorvin Pantoja. He threw three innings, allowed on unearned run, and struck out four.
The Spinners got on the board in the bottom of the fourth. Barriento led off the inning with a double and was driven in by first baseman Zach Sterry to tie the ball game. 
Reliever Rio Gomez surrendered a pair of runs (one earned) on four hits with four strikeouts over 2.1 innings of work. He would be credited for his first loss of the season.
Mitchell Osnowitz closed out the game with 1.2 perfect innings on the hill.
With the loss, the Spinners wrap up their season with a 33-42 record. Thank you to all the fans who have made 2017 such an amazing year here at LeLacheur Park! We will see you next year but until then...GATOR UP!
