The Nats got off to a quick start, scoring a pair of runs on sacrifice flies to make it a 2-0 game. They came back for more in the top of the fourth. Connor Scott drove in Spencer Nivens to take a 3-0 lead and Canyon Brown doubled to left, plating Scott. Angel Acosta followed up with his first hit as a Natural, an RBI single to center to make it a 5-0 game. Luke Pelzer followed with a single of his own to first, brining home Acosta.
NWA added to their lead in the ninth with runs off Daniel Vazquez and Brown singles, making it 8-0.
Owen followed up a 12-strikeout performance in Springfield last week with eight punchouts Friday, keeping the Missions off the board over his 6.1 innings of work while limiting the opponent to three hits and two walks. Anthony Simonelli tossed a scoreless 1.2 innings and while San Antonio scored their lone run of the game in the ninth, Augusto Mendieta got the final three outs of the night to cap an 8-1 win for the Naturals. The victory snaps a three-game skid.
